Shepherds 2020 COVID-19 Policy

Shepherds Theological Seminary aims to provide a healthy learning environment with some specific policies in place during this COVID-19 pandemic. To that end, we have established an enhanced health and safety plan in order to offer in-person instruction this fall at all of our locations within governmental guidelines. The full plan is attached here, but please note some of the highlights below.

For the Fall 2020 semester, all students and faculty have the right to request to livestream the course. Those wishing to livestream the entirety of the fall semester need to complete their livestream request forms for each class they are taking. Those that come for in-person instruction must abide by the policies outlined in the plan.

Among the policies for in-person attendees are daily self-screening requirements, which include taking one’s temperature at home before arriving at any STS location (these requirements also apply to STS employees, contractors, and general visitors). All students and faculty/staff who have been sick with COVID-19 symptoms, tested positive for COVID-19, or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 through close contact (either through community-related exposure, domestic/international travel, or conference attendance) are to follow CDC guidance to self-isolate and stay home.

Additionally, STS is taking several proactive safety measures to ensure that our classrooms are sanitary. These include: enhanced cleaning protocols by our custodial staff; requirements for face coverings; hand sanitizer stations scattered throughout the campus; and assigned seats, so that students are at the same desk all semester and are spread out to maintain social distancing.

Again, for more details, especially in regards to our safety measures and how to proceed if you test positive for COVID-19, please read the full COVID-19 plan here.
