Did you know that seminary is not just for pastors? How would you like to be part of a cohort program in a local church in your community, study the bible verse-by-verse, study in Israel, and receive intentional discipleship, all while earning a master’s degree?
No matter what your career, your first calling is to know Christ and make Him known. We believe that it is not only important to provide training for vocational ministry, but also to equip serious believers for non-vocational ministry in their families, work places, and churches. The Shepherds Local Church Cluster Cohort Initiative makes theological training available to men and women of all professions.
Our master’s degree in theological studies is built on the belief that living out the Word of God through the power of the Spirit changes the lives of students and those they will minister to for the rest of their lives. Our doctrine comes from the Word of God and it forms the basis for our theological distinctiveness as well as our curriculum and education. Click here for the full STS Doctrinal Statement.
The Master of Theological Studies, offered in the Cluster Program, is a 42-hour accredited degree taught by the faculty of Shepherds Theological Seminary. Subjects range from Hermeneutics and Old and New Testament Studies to Life of Christ and Historical Theology. As students complete classes over each semester, they receive a biblical foundation that builds upon itself from year to year.
The cluster dynamic promotes working with fellow learners in training for ministry.
A seasoned and dedicated on-site teaching mentor guides students toward academic achievement and success.
A vibrant local church provides the spiritual oversight essential to a robust ministry- training experience.
Route 66 takes students through all 66 books of the Bible in a nine-month academic year meeting early each weekday morning.
The Israel Initiative study trip allows students to learn the Bible on location and in context.
Participation from the local church enables students to receive a substantial tuition discount.
