28 Oct STS Fall 2020 Day at Shepherds Recap
We are praising God for a strong turnout to our Fall 2020 Day at Shepherds! 30 prospective students attended a series of sessions and opportunities for fellowship, to illustrate what student life looks like here at Shepherds. The day began with a breakfast fellowship, before transitioning to an overview of the different programs and opportunities for study at our seminary. These included presentations on the Shepherds Institute, our one-year program that launched in Cary this year, and Shepherds’ Department of Biblical Archaeology.

Following this overview, our attendees heard from Drs. Doug Bookman, Les Lofquist, and Peter Goeman. Each of these professors taught a brief session on an area of their respective expertise, ranging from the life of Christ, to vision and purpose in ministry, to interpreting difficult Old Testament passages. The prospective students were able to take notes, ask questions, and engage as if they were sitting in on the very classes that these professors are currently teaching.

Finally, the event ended with a joint luncheon that included Day at Shepherds attendees, incoming Doctor of Ministry students, and Shepherds faculty and staff, alumni, and board members. It was a treasured time that brought in over 100 individuals for both the preceding events and for the kickoff of the Shepherds 360 Conference that took place in the hours following the luncheon. We are thankful for the contributions of many that made this day so special, and we prayerfully anticipate how God will work in the hearts of those in attendance and of those who will attend future spring and fall Day at Shepherds events!
