The first annual Pettegrew Lecture Series event will take place on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. The event is named in memorial of Dr. Larry Pettegrew, Shepherd’s former dean and executive vice president who went home to be with the Lord last year. This lecture series will be taught by distinguished speaker, Dr. Don Sunukjian, who will be giving a presentation entitled, “Making the Connection: How to Communicate God’s Word with more Relevance.”
Dr. Sunukjian most recently retired from Talbot Schol of Divinity as Professor of Christian Ministry and Leadership. His lifelong love has been preaching, both as a pastor and a teacher. His passion is to see God’s Word presented with accuracy, clarity, interest and relevance. With doctorates in theology and communication and over 20 years as a senior pastor, he brings both scholarship and experience to his lectures. Additionally, Dr. Sunukjian has contributed to The Bible Knowledge Commentary, Biblical Preaching, Bibliotheca Sacra, Walvoord: A Tribute, and The Big Idea of Biblical Preaching.
The event will be held on the campus of Shepherds Theological Seminary from 8:30am-12pm, with a complimentary lunch to follow.
