Ian Rosario — Class of 2028
Married to Nina Rosario

Where and how did you grow up?

I grew up in Connecticut with my two siblings in a Christian household. Since elementary school, I never had a lot of friends, and the theme of loneliness was recurring in my life. However, in one of the loneliest seasons in middle school, the Word of the Lord showed me His loving friendship and He drew me into a relationship with Him.

What life circumstances or situations did God use to create in you a desire for pastoral ministry?

Jesus’ love for me has inspired me to share about Him with others. While studying for my undergraduate at the University of Maryland, I was involved with a campus ministry where I grew a love for my church and those who do not have the hope of the Lord. While serving and growing in my Christian walk, I found my passion for ministry consistently growing and a desire to labor for the Lord with more of my time.

How do you anticipate seminary helping you specifically to prepare for ministry?

Since ministry involves the souls of others, I view the role of a pastor as extremely serious. I have experience with serving in college ministry, but I do not have formal theological instruction. Through seminary, I want to have a thorough and accurate understanding of the Word of God so that I am able to share, equip, and disciple others.

What kind of ministry, people group, or geographical area are you passionate about or planning to be involved in after graduating and why?

I have always been excited about sharing the gospel in a region with little or no access to the gospel. I would love to be a part of a church plant. However, I am open to the Lord’s direction and excited for wherever He leads my wife and me.
