On May 21, 2023, Shepherds Theological Seminary celebrated its 20th commencement ceremony, conferring 64 degrees—five of which were the first to receive the Doctor of Ministry degree from Shepherds. Academic distinction awards were presented to Trevor Robinson for Greek and MDiv, Zachary Pawlowski for Hebrew, and Kevin Welch for Theology. The Pettigrew Scholarship was awarded to Obadiah McAdoo.
In his address to the graduates, President Stephen Davey spoke on the subject of “Urgency”—using as his example the Apostle Paul, who believed that the gospel was important enough to demand swift action. President Davey stated . . . “For Paul, there was this urgency about the next step – the next chapter – the next city – the next assignment.” President Davey encouraged the graduates that whatever God calls them to do is important enough to demand swift action.
