The second annual Pettegrew Lecture Series event will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The event is named in memorial of Dr. Larry Pettegrew, Shepherd’s former dean and executive vice president who went home to be with the Lord in 2024. This lecture series will be taught by distinguished speaker, Dr. Craig Blaising, who will be speaking on the Church and Kingdom Theology.
Dr. Blaising is a Senior Professor of Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he previously served as Executive Vice President and held the Jesse Hendley Chair of Biblical Theology. He previously taught at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Dallas Theological Seminary. He is co-author of Progressive Dispensationalism (Baker, 1993), co-editor of Psalms 1-50 in the Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture (IVP, 2008), and has authored several articles on eschatology, hermeneutics, and patristics.
