Jimmy Carter

Director of Church Integration, Practical Theology

Jimmy serves as the Director of Shepherds Institute – Cary, NC. He is responsible for all aspects of site development, student discipleship, academic program oversight, and teaching courses in Practical Theology. Jimmy and his wife Andrea are both graduates of the one-year program at The WEST Institute of Shepherds Theological Seminary (Laramie, WY). He served the program in Laramie for 8 years, most recently as Assistant Director, before moving to Cary to help launch Shepherds Institute in 2019.

Jimmy also serves as the Pastor of Community Life at The Shepherd’s Church in Cary, NC. He is an ordained Pastor, licensed at Laramie Valley Chapel (Laramie, WY), and has a passion for teaching people God’s Word and seeing them live out the truth of Scripture in the context of community. Jimmy directs Route 66, a one-year class that guides participants through all 66 books of the Bible in a verse-by-verse manner.

He completed his BS Business in Business Administration at the University of Wyoming. He completed his MACM and MDiv through Shepherds Theological Seminary.

Jimmy is married to Andrea (Andi) and has two sons: Owen and Bryce.
