ADOPT A SHEPHERD

“Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

—Matthew 9:38

Shepherds desires to be an answer to that prayer! With 49 churches currently asking us to help them find a pastor, and realizing that over 35% of our MDiv grads take more than 7 years to complete their degree due to simultaneously needing to work in order to finance their education, we developed a new FREE 3–Year Cohort MDiv.  But we need help in funding this vital new program!

“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:36)

ABOUT ADOPT A SHEPHERD

In an age of increasing costs, students can’t bear the full cost of theological education, especially when they enter a field that does not promise means of repayment.

Here is where the Lord can use you.

Consider “adopting” a seminary student! We offer three types of support:

  • Open Adoption: The student knows the donor, and they have open communication.
  • Closed Adoption: Anonymous donor, but students can send info and thanks through STS representatives.
  • Sealed Adoption: Anonymous donor, and the donor does not want any communication.

    Sample Support Increments

Support can be given in any amount, though the following are logical increments:

    • Full adoption: $13,500 per year
    • Half Adoption: $6,750 per year
    • Quarter Adoption: $3,400 per year

Sheep without a shepherd. Sadly, the reality in Jesus’ day remains a reality in ours. Not only is there a need for missionaries and church planters to reach the sheep that have not met the Great Shepherd, even our churches are not able to find capable shepherds to tend the flock already gathered.
